Advanced Shot Blasting Services

Shot blasting is the process of forcibly propelling a stream of abrasive material against a surface under high pressure to smooth a rough surface, roughen a smooth surface, shape a surface or remove surface contaminants. We offer two types of shot blasting in our purpose-built Hodge Clemco Blast Rooms, one for ferrous material using steel iron grit and one for non-ferrous material (stainless steel and aluminium) using GMA Australian garnet.

This service is recommended if you are aiming to clean, strengthen or polish any stainless or mild steel.

BENEFITS OF Shot Blasting

EFFECTIVE SURFACE PREPARATION

Shot blasting efficiently removes dirt, rust, scale, and other contaminants, leaving a clean, smooth surface ready for coatings, paints, or finishes, and ensuring uniform surface profiles.

ENHANCE DURABILITY AND LIFESPAN

The process increases the mechanical bonding between surfaces and protective coatings, enhancing resistance to corrosion, wear, and fatigue, which is crucial in demanding industries like automotive, aerospace, and construction.

STRESS RELIEVING FOR METAL COMPONENTS

The process helps in relieving residual stress in metal components, enhancing their structural integrity and reducing the likelihood of failures, ensuring long-lasting performance across applications.

IMPROVED SAFETY STANDARDS

By creating a clean, hazard-free environment and eliminating the need for manual, potentially harmful cleaning methods, shot blasting enhances workplace safety and reduces the risk of accidents.

COST-EFFICIENCY AND ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLINESS

Shot blasting is an automated, efficient process that reduces labour costs and minimises downtime. It eliminates the need for hazardous chemicals, and the abrasive particles used can be recycled, contributing to sustainable practices.
